TWENTY INFECTIONS CAUSED THROUGH INJECTABLE STEROIDS

ATLANTA - The new report by CDC said that nearly 20 infections are connected to injectable steroids in three states published by a Tennesse Compounding Pharmacy. 

There were 20 patients have skin and soft-tissue infections supplied by Main Street Family Pharmacy in Newbern, CDC said. Likewise, it seen in Florida, North Carolina and Illinois.

The drug like methylprednisolone acetate sold by Main Street Family Pharmacy in 10-mL vials at 80mg/mL have connected to infections, CDC said.

However, the reported last year involved numbers of death from fungal

meningitis by compounding pharmacy in Massachusetts distributed contaminated methylprednisolone.

Atleast one patients were affected by receiving steroids from the Tennessee pharmacy. It also affects the central nervous system. Meningitis causes skin and soft tissue and more than risk from intramuscular injections.
