The research by University of Wisconsin reported that sleep boosts myelin which allows to work properly in brain. Sleep helps to supporting cells in production of brain, according to new research. Regarding sleeping is essential to our body because many genes are activate during sleep and deactivate during wakefulness.
Sleep helps to boosts Myelin. Myelin contians electrical force to move from one cell to the next. Likewise, specific cell types called oligodendrocytes helps to work myelin into healthy brain. They discovered that during sleeping time, the genes containing myelin cells were activated.
It also found that imitation of oligodendrocyte processor cells (OPCs) become twice during sleep especially during rapid eye movements (REM) i.e; when dreaming.
The research has been going for a longer period that how the nerve cells varies when animals are alert versus when they are sleeping. It is obivously way of supporting cells in the nervous system operate and also alter simultanously when the animal is sleeping or alert, said Dr. Cirelli.
