ARCTIC OCEAN GETS ACIDITY

Scientist from Arctic Monitoring and Assesment programme
(AMAP) recently found that acidity level increase in Arctic ocean. Since acidity level increases quickly in arctic ocean is dangerous to valuable creature like fish.

We know that Carbondioxide warms the earth but it also makes Alkaline sea water to acidic level due to absorption from the air. The absorption of Co2 is more faster in colder regions than in hot regions.

The increase in flow of fresh water from rivers to arctic ocean make less effective in neutralising chemically the acidity level of Co2 absorption. The researches says that the acidity level is more effective in surface than in deep water.

The Chairman of Norweign Institute for water research Richard Bellerby says to BBC news that the fresh water lower the ions and change the PH value of acidity. The arctic ocean is covered with frozen ice. The melting of ice makes fast absorption of Co2 .

Scientist found that average acidity level of ocean water is 30 percentage now which is higher than before the industrial revolution. The researchers also says increasing acidity level in arctic ocean and dangerous to sea butterflies and development of fish eggs.
