HOLY PLACE OF HARIDWAR

Haridwar is one of the Hindu holy places in India and located in the state of Uttarakhand. The river Ganges (Ganga)were flow from the hills to the North Indian plains. There are more numbers of people visiting the Haridwar mainly hindu religions. It is also called as tourist spot in India. 

"Kumbh Mela" is the main festival were celebrated every twelve years once. Baisakhi, Kanwar Mela, Somwati Amavasya, Kartik Purinma these are famous festivals included yearly. To reach Haridwar you can go by train or plane. It is about 200 Km from Delhi through road and rail. 

Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport service to Delhi on Air India and Kingfisher daily flights. It covers 20 Km from Haridwar. There are many trains and bus facilities available to reach Haridwar junciton.

*Place to visit in Haridwar : 
        
1) Hari-ki-Pairi:
                         It is located at the Haridwar north of the center. The devotees gathered there to bath and worship on the Ganges river. And also every evening devotees all crowded nearby Ganges river at 7 PM for putting diyas ( floating lamps).

2) Maya Devi Mandir:
                                   It is located on upper road. The other name for this temple was Mayapur. Here, 51 "Shakthi Peeths" were seen in this temple.

3) Mansa Devi Mandir:
                                  It is located at the top hill near the center of town. To reach the temple you can go by roap car to worship two temples both mansa devi and chandi devi.

4) Bilkeshwar Mahadev Mandir: 
                                               It is located on a hill . Generally, Lord Shiva is presiding on the temple.

"Rishikesh" is also one of the tourist place located about 26 Km upriver from Haridwar and Rajaji National Park seen between Haridwar and Rishikesh.
