H7N9 VIRUS RESISTANCE TO TAMIFLU DRUGS

A new study led by Dr. Zhenghong Yuang of Shanghai Public Health  Clinical Center and School of Basic Medical science, Shanghai medical college of Fudan University, China and Dr. Malik Peiris, of the University of Honghong, China said that treatment of H7N9 virus is prevented by TamiFlu ( Oseltamivir) drugs.

In Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center diagonised 14 patients affected with H7N9 virus. The researchers examined their infection of virus and their body immune response in their treatment.

The patients who examined are affected with pneumonia and seven of them need exterior ventilation and three of them more severe condition needed Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation ( ECMO). This treatment gives oxygen to blood when lungs cannot function properly of these two patients died. While third in lender ventillation support to survive.

By treating these persons with H7N9 virus need antiviral known as

neuraminidase which includes Tamiflu and it controls the virus in the patients and made decrease of viral infection in the body.

The three patients who became severe conditions the antiviral drug. Tamiflu  does not respond to these persons.However, the patiets was examined by genetic testing of virus diagonised in patients where the researchers found genetic mutation characters of prevention to neuramindase. People these research says that controlling of H7N9 with Tamiflu genetic mutation shows negative results. 

The researchers says that further study need for treatment of H7N9 virus to determine whether its affect beyond respiratory track. The research says that early treatment with antivirals like Tamiflu will control H7N9 virus.
